Prof. Feng Wu
Professor Feng Wu, doctor of physics, tutor of doctors and general secretary of International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU), jointly invented the first HIFU equipment in the world with Professor Zhibiao Wang.
In collaboration with Professor Zhibiao Wang, Professor Wu played a key role in the national breakthrough program of the ninth five-year plan, as well as the national torch program and the key program of nature and Science Foundation of China. In 2000, he was honored with National Second Prize for Technical Innovation.
These years, he has released more than 70 academic theses concerning modern surgery, cytobiology and molecular biology. He has made a material contribution to the International promotion of the Haifu?R Model JC Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System,who is currently serving as an adviser in the Tumor Therapeutic Center of Churchill Hospital, UK.
Prof. Hui Zhu
Professor Hui Zhu, tutor of masters, serves as director of the Tumor Therapeutic Center in the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Professor Zhu graduated from Chongqing Medical University in 1983 , he got his master's degree from the same institution in 1992.
In the past decade, professor Zhu has been devoted to researching the clinical application of HIFU. He was chief participant of extracorporeal conformal ablation of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma with high intensity focused ultrasound supported by NSFC, and leading member of miniaturization of focused ultrasound tumor treatment systems supported by Chongqing Government.
In the recent years,as a doctor of great attainments in the field of Ultrasound Ablation(UA), professor Zhu has been to lots of hospitals abroad which carry on Ultrasound Ablation (UA) with High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System such as Chiba University Hospital(Japan), St. Mary’s Hospital (Korea)ect., .He has been playing an important role in guiding and training doctors in Ultrasound Ablation (UA).
Up to now, more than 40 of his papers on HIFU have been published in academic magazines at home and abroad. Moreover, he has been invited to U.S.A. , Japan, Korea , Mongolia and Viet Nam for academic exchanges. As director of the Tumor Therapeutic Center, he has achieved substantial results in treating liver cancers, breast cancers, primary and metastatic malignant bone tumors, soft tissue sarcomas with comprehensive HIFU clinical protocols.
Prof. Zhibiao Wang
Prof. Zhibiao Wang, president of Chongqing Haifu Technology Co., Ltd, invented the first Haifu High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System. The system has been clinically applicable in treating tumour noninvasively and extracorporeally.
He is one of the Vice Chairmen of the Youth Undertaking Committee of Society for Biomedical Engineering of China and Vice Chairman of Therapeutic Effects Committee of Society for Ultrasonic Engineering in Medicine of China. He is director of Institute of Ultrasonic Engineering in Medicine attached to Chongqing Medical University. Prof. Wang graduated from Chongqing Medical University in 1989, he achieved his doctorate from the same institution in 1993. He has conducted clinical treatment, education and research in ultrasound therapy and has educated 4 postdoctoral researchers, 17 doctors and 28 masters. In 1996, he first put forward the concept of BFF (biological focused field).
In 2000, professor Wang accomplished "the technical breakthrough programs within the ninth five-year plan", "National torch programs", and " National hi-tech pilot programs" sponsored respectively by the Committee of National Nature and Science Fund, National Science and Technology Committee, and National Development & Planning Committee.
In the recent years, more than 200 of his papers have been published in academic magazines at home and abroad. He has got 11 Chinese and 7 international patents. In 2000 he was also granted the National Second Prize for Technical Innovation for his Haifu system.
Prof. Wang is currently leading Chongqing Haifu`s work on research in the fields of device development, clinical application and marketing. Chongqing Haifu has treated more than 40,000 cases of midterm and terminal malignant tumors, including liver cancer, breast cancer, osteosarcoma, soft tissues sarcoma, as well as nearly 1000,000 non-cancer patients.
Prof. Wenzhi Chen
Professor Wenzhi Chen, doctor of Orthopaedics, tutor of doctors, deputy director of the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, was one of principle investigators of the first High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System in the world.
Professor Wenzhi Chen devoted more than 20 years’ time in studying osteosarcoma and soft tissues sarcoma. After years of experiments on large animals, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System was applied in osteosarcoma, soft tissues sarcoma clinical treatment in 1997.
What is more, in collaboration with Professor Zhibiao Wang, Professor Chen was heavily involved in the national breakthrough program of the ninth five-year plan, as well as the national torch program and the key program of Nature and Science Foundation of China. He was honored with National Second Prize for Technical Innovation for the Haifu?R Model JC Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System in 2000, in addition, he won the first prize of Changing Technology Invention Award for the SeapostarTM Ultrasound Therapeutic Device in 2005.
